The Videoton squad continue their hard work in training
Manager Gyorgy Mezey spoke about how the Balaton training camp has gone so far. "You cannot have two daily training sessions on an astro-turf pitch for a long time." That is why he has decided to hold the morning session inside a gym. The squad then train on an astro turf pitch at either Veszprem or Balatonfured. The manager then turned to the week ahead: "This week is about getting into shape and working on our fitness, as the friendly games will begin to come thick and fast following this week. The emphasis has been on building up our physical side, which will not only show the dynamic movements in our matches, but it will count a lot mentally as well. A footballer's confidence also increases if he works very hard, as he knows, that he will be able to compete in any battle." - said the manager.
There will now be three morning training sessions this week, lasting almost one hour, instead of the usually one, where they will practice coordination. The players went through their first one this morning in a gym, which according to the manager, has everything needed for a serious, yet good natured session. The squad then returned to the Ramada hotel in BalatonAlmadi, following their morning training session. The players had a half hour in the gym there on top of their work earlier on. There was one and a half hour rest following lunch, before they boarded the coach and headed to Balatonfured, the location of the afternoon session. The quality astro-turf there was covered in a blanket of fog, and was also close to freezing point, but this did not seem to effect the players at all. The program for Wednesday will include two sessions, before an interesting program awaits the squad on Thursday. The details of that are remaining unwrapped for the moment but are sure to be interesting.
