Videoton produced a good second half performance against Haladas

"I felt that the players were not that comfortable in the first half, as a result of me changing the usual system. You could see this in the positioning of both Elek and Milanovics. We spoke about this at half time, and that was the reason why I brought on Balazs Farkas. I was also expecting more from the wings, from both Djordjic and Vasziljevics. The former was often right on the touchline, which is where he tried to do his role, but he did not do what Polonkai normally does. However, Vasziljevics did very well in the end. We were much better in the second half, and we were more together and the team produced a better performance. I thought that both penalty's were correct, and perhaps one of them deserved a red card, but lets not get insatiable. On the whole I felt that it was a real cup game today, which we managed to take a good lead from, for the second leg in December."

Aczél : "We saw two different 45 minutes today. I thought that our performance, both physically and tactically, was acceptable in the first half. We also managed to create as many chances as Videoton did in the opening half, in a low quality match, which we played our part in. You could see the difference in the two sides in the second half, and a major reason for this was the quality of the Videoton bench. We still have physical and stamina problems in our squad, and I had to make changes after the players tired. However, we were not able to bring on the same quality of player as the home team. Videoton totally deserved to win the game based on  their second half showing. We now have very little chance of progressing in the cup as a result."
