Videoton's trio of internationals, Elek, Liptak and Lazar all feel that Hungary can surprise Sweden
"Sandor Egervari put us through a really high tempo 60 minute training session yesterday." - began defender Zoltan Liptak. "We spent the afternoon going through set pieces and building up attacks. We felt a little bit more tired than the rest of the players, who played on Friday and Saturday. Our system has got used to having a day off 3 days after a match. However, there is no problem with this, and we will be in peak form by Friday." Tuesday ended with a joint meal in Budapest. We also looked at videos, which included Sweden's most recent international match. Akos Elek feels that Hungary also need to keep an eye on midfielder Kim Kallstrome, besides Ibrahimovics. "It is a known thing that Sweden should win, going by paperform, which is no secret. However, we will be going out to cause a surprise. We have a chance of doing just this, and our recent friendly with England, who are stronger than Sweden, will play a role in this. If we fully carry out the manager's instructions, and concentrate throughout, then we can cause a surprise. We would be satisfied with a draw, but we know that we cannot play for a draw." Akos' two teammates also agreed with this view. The players do not yet know the exact role they will have in the European championship qualifier. If Liptak is picked, then he will have an important role in keeping hold of Ibrahimovic. "It has naturally gone through my mind just who I may come up against on Friday. I know just how good he can be, but only until the moment that the referee blows the first whistle. From then on, only my role will be important." added Liptak. Elek and Liptak are room mates at Telki, while Pal Lazar has decided to have a single room to relax in. "We had the chance to pick the room we wanted, whether it would be a single or with another player. I chose the single room as I can only totally relax if there is complete darkness and quiet. If my room mate would watch TV or stay up longer, than that would upset me." -said Lazar, who has been called up to the international side for the first time. "I have been to Telki before, so the surroundings are not strange for me. The service has been even better that I am with the senior internationals, and it gives you a buzz to know that your are preparing with the best players in the country." The players will have a further training session on Wednesday at 17:30pm, before flying out to Sweden tomorrow morning. The plan is to have another training session at the Rasunda stadium tomorrow afternoon.
