The work began with medical tests and assessments, with Gusztáv Vajda and Gábor Barta joining our coaching team.
On Thursday, Vidi’s preparations for the 2026–2027 season began with physical assessments and medical examinations. The first team training session will take place on Friday afternoon, and pre-season games will begin on July 1st.
There have been two changes to our coaching staff.
Assistant coach Tamás Burányi has left the club and has been replaced by Gusztáv Vajda. The 54-year-old coach, who previously played for our club in NB I, has been working with Videoton’s youth system since 2007; last season, he led our U17 team to the league title and promotion to the U19 elite league. He has previously worked with our first team, assisting Tamás Pető.
In the position of strength and conditioning coach, the departing Krisztián Szabados will be replaced by the returning Gábor Barta. The 47-year-old coach worked for many years between 2017 and 2025 as a physical therapist and strength and conditioning coach alongside our first team; last season, he was a member of the coaching staff at Puskás Akadémia FC.
Balázs Bekő will continue to assist our head coach as an assistant coach, Ferenc Hegedüs as goalkeeper coach, and Bence Pap as video analyst.
We wish our departing staff members continued success, and we wish Gusztáv Vajda and Gábor Barta all the best in their new roles with the red-and-blue!
