Videoton produce a strong finish in the league cup

Videoton FC twice found themselves a goal ahead, and both times, Gyirmot of the division two, western section, managed to level. However, a strong finish from Vidi gave Paulo Sousa's side 3 points in this group C match. Sousa went with a fairly experienced starting line-up with a place in goal for Montenegro international keeper Mladen Bozsovics. Caneira came in for his first start in a Videoton shirt, and he partnered fellow recent new signing, Vinicius at the heart of defence. 

The league cup in Hungary is used by most sides to field those players with limited match experience, as well as those coming through the youth ranks. A small crowd came out to see several of the summer transfer signings. In the end a double strike from Alves and Nikolics was enough to make sure that it was the home side who kept the three group C points at home.
